Admittedly, a month ago, I did not know what a diptych was. Where have I been, you might ask? Well, right here, doing what I usually do. For whatever reason this term never hit my radar screen and I didn’t know what I was missing! Life is meant for learning, so some three weeks later, I have a better grasp of this form of art.
Thanks to the Female Photographers of Etsy group (about which I cannot say enough good things), I have joined their newest project called ‘Miss Match’. Two or three photographers are paired together and given a theme to interpret as they see fit. The resulting images are positioned into a dip or triptych and posted on the Miss Match blog, which can be found at www.missmatchproject.blogspot.com.
I was paired with a fabulously talented photographer, Cassie Beck, of Brighton, UK. You can visit Cassie’s Etsy shop HERE. She is fond of vintage and nostalgic images and her work is just that – reminiscent of days gone by.
Here is our first diptych for ‘Tiny”. Ta da!
Cassie’s image is on the left, mine is on the right.
If you have looked at my website at all, I’m sure you will recognize this couple. Right from the baby bump to family photos! I became good friends with the Stewart Family while living in Vancouver and was lucky enough to be around for the birth of Ella May Stewart. Both being photographers, they don’t usually need my help in capturing great images of their little girl. When it comes to a family photo though, even two professionals can use a little help at this stage! You were a total star Ella!
